biography
Baritone Barry Robinson, a recent graduate of The Shepherd School of Music of Rice University, is a native of Greenville, SC.
While completing his Master of Music degree, Mr. Robinson performed the roles of Henry Davis (Street Scene), and Giove (La Calisto) with the Rice University Opera Theater, as well as Taddeo (L'italiana in Algeri) and Claggart (Billy Budd) in Opera Scenes programs. He was also the recipient of the prestigious Provost Fellowship from Rice University. Mr. Robinson completed his undergraduate studies at The Manhattan School of Music where he performed the roles of Il Commendatore (Don Giovanni) and Il Commissario (Madama Butterfly) with the Manhattan School of Music Opera Theater, as well as The Forester (The Cunning Little Vixen), Il Conte and Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro).
In concert Mr. Robinson has performed as Bass soloist in Faure's Requiem, Handel's Messiah and Judas Maccabeus.
Mr. Robinson performs regularly with the opera company Opera Noire, NY.
