"I have been taking voice lesson with Alysia for about two months. Every lesson is a joy and inspiration. I am a singer/songwriter and so I asked Alysia to work on both, my vocal ability, range, and tone, via exercises etc., as well as on the performance of my songs. It has been a very complementary process and I am thrilled that Alysia is well versed in many different musical styles, has tons of helpful suggestions in all areas, and brings a huge amount of enthusiasm for teaching and sharing. Alysia is also very encouraging and knows how to make a student feel comfortable and relaxed, which is just so important for singing in the first place. She is also very inventive in conveying information so that it really hits home and makes sense. As I said, I have been consistently inspired by each lesson, not only because I experience progress from lesson to lesson, song to song, but I know I am also learning how to problem solve and troubleshoot my singing and presentation of songs, which is very empowering and feels like such an important part of my musical journey and growth. To sum it up, a gem of a teacher!" — Claudia Sansoucie, alto

"It is truly one of the highlights of my week. The lesson time goes so fast, already I have more confidence singing than I have ever had. She is not only teaching me to breath correctly, stand properly, and use good diction, she is also talking to me about the science of singing and how to naturally use the whole body as an instrument. She's great!" —Maurice Evans, tenor

"I have taken voice lessons with Ms. Alysia Lee for over a month. During that time, she has taught me how to solidify the basics of my vocal technique. Ms. Lee also taught me specific things I could do with my singing to better express the music. I found our lessons very enjoyable and at the same time educational; Ms. Lee explained concepts in different ways so I could understand them more thoroughly. Her pleasant demeanor, great sense of humor and positive reinforcement helped me to build confidence and focus whenever I sing. I highly recommend her to aspiring vocalists." — Robert Walliczek, baritone

my teaching approach

I enjoy working with my students on every aspect of song, including poetry, musicality, language, and drama. My goal is to find the most comfortable and natural voice production for each student and to guide them towards a high level of text commitment. As a teacher my role is multi-faceted. The voice teacher is an anatomy expert, foreign language authority, stage director, career guidance counselor, and motivator. I wear all of these hats and more while infusing my lessons with a level of energy worthy of the process of music making. To share my love and admiration for music is my greatest joy in teaching.
