biography
Alison Wedding has sung all over the world, including such places as Japan, China, South America, Mexico, the UK and Australia. She spent 6 years in Melbourne, Australia, where she recorded her first 2 albums, the first of which won the 2004 Australian Bell Award for best vocal jazz album. Throughout her career, Alison has performed as a guest with many other artists on stage and in the studio, including Kevyn Lettau, Cathy Segal-Garcia, and Andy Summers of The Police. Since returning to the USA only 6 months ago, Alison has focused on writing new material and performing in various clubs in New York City, including the 55 Bar, Cornelia St Cafe, and Rockwood Music Hall. She will be recording a new album in 2008.
Alison has over 10 years experience teaching voice both privately and in various music schools, including Los Angeles Music Academy, Harrison School of music (Los Angeles), Monash University (Melbourne, Australia, Victoria College of the Arts (Melbourne), and Fairfield Tafe (Melbourne).
my teaching approach
Alison not only strives to teach her vocal students to find their own unique sound, but also helps them discover how to be true musicians, who (with hard work and a bit of fun) will develop the confidence to perform in a variety of settings.
